Building on last week’s testing and assessing we are going to be making some changes concerning the Wishes feature-set to make it easier for Members to navigate their wish-making experience. This week we introduce to members the ability to publish content through the Articles and Portfolio feature sets. These core features are the building blocks for content and they provide Members with tools to reach their goals on the platform.
A fundamental process in any community is communication. It is through communication that collaborative or cooperative activities can be undertaken. In this thinking, we realize the need for Members to openly communicate with the platform. However, communication has to be relevant and as such we have designed our Articles feature-set to publish content with a focus on intent. This way, when creating an Article, Members can consider the objective of the communication along with other factors. This ensures that all content has established relevancy and guides the discovery process for other Members, making it easier to be found and seen by those that will give it value. Through Articles, Members can now publish Links to documents, Questions, Announcements, Member Recognition, Tutorials and more to be announced later in Beta
Additional to communication is the requirement to validate experience in skill or service through an evidence system. Specific to this reasoning we have also created a dedicated Article type, the Portfolio feature set. Portfolios will be made available so that Profiles may publish Folios that demonstrate the various Profile listed Skills or Services. This makes it easier for Members to showcase their work and it facilitates the discovery process for the specific Skill or Service.
Starting today, Members are now invited to Sign In and create some content by clicking the Plus button on their home screen. If you notice anything out of place or an action that did not completed please let us know right away via the Beta Feedback Form. We appreciate the effort and participation of the Beta Members who have joined us to date and all those who have registered for consideration for future Beta participation.
